Rachel Tsunemoto Hislop

Rachel Tsunemoto Hislop is a Principal and the Director of Research at Two Bear Capital in San Diego, where she leads a team producing data-driven insights for strategic life sciences investments. Since joining the firm in 2020, she has focused on evaluating early-stage biotechnology, therapeutics, and diagnostics companies for Seed and Series A investments ranging from $100,000 to $5 million. She concurrently serves as a Director at Abilita Therapeutics and previously worked in medical affairs at Acorda Therapeutics. Her academic background includes a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California San Diego, with publications in Nature, and a BS in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During her doctoral studies, she conducted research funded by a California Institute of Regenerative Medicine grant in the laboratories of Lawrence Goldstein and Samuel Pfaff.
