Rafi Sands

Rafi Sands is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tandem, a real estate technology startup based in Oakland, California. Prior to launching this venture, he spent two years at Stanford University working alongside Professor Nick Bloom to research the post-COVID office market and analyze shifting workplace dynamics. He previously built his professional foundation as a management consultant, where he developed corporate strategies that he now combines with his expertise as an urban economist to address modern commercial real estate challenges. Outside of his primary professional endeavors, Sands maintains an active personal blog on the Substack platform and is a dedicated endurance athlete who has completed 18 marathons and earned a Guinness World Record. His current focus centers on bridging academic economic research with practical startup leadership to innovate within the rapidly evolving urban workspace sector.
