Raj Shah is the Managing Partner and co-founder of Shield Capital, Chairman of the cybersecurity startup Resilience, and a former U.S. Air Force F-16 combat pilot. He previously served as Managing Director of the Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx), reporting to Secretary of Defense Ash Carter to integrate commercial technologies into national security. Before his government service, Shah was CEO and co-founder of Morta Security, which was acquired by Palo Alto Networks, leading to his role as Senior Director of Strategy. A former McKinsey & Company consultant, he holds a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the NATO Innovation Fund, authored the book Unit X, and focuses his venture capital investments on the convergence of commercial technology, cybersecurity, and national defense.
