Ran Makavy

Ran Makavy is a technology executive and active early-stage investor who has backed over sixty startups and currently serves as a Board Director for Cyngn. He previously founded the mobile startup Snaptu, which was acquired by Facebook in 2011, where he subsequently directed growth initiatives across emerging markets. Makavy later joined Lyft to build its driver and rider acquisition teams, running the core platform, sales, partnerships, and healthcare divisions through its 2019 initial public offering. During his tenure at Lyft, he acquired 893,871 shares and sold 1,441,765 shares for $33.6 million, contributing to an estimated net worth of $42.8 million as of April 2026. He was appointed to the Cyngn board in February 2026 to replace Colleen Cunningham, and his focus centers on performance marketing, platform leadership, and operations within the technology and mobility sectors.
