Ray Nolan is a General Partner at Rockset Ventures based in London, United Kingdom. Before transitioning to the venture capital industry in 2023, he served as the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Playfish, a social gaming enterprise that Electronic Arts acquired for $400 million in 2009. His earlier operational background includes co-founding the mobile gaming firm GREE and working as an early employee at NetEase, following his computer science studies at University College Dublin. Nolan currently manages investment funds with over $100 million in assets under management and has built a portfolio of more than 50 early-stage investments, recently leading a Series A funding round for Carry1st in May 2024. Today, his primary investment focus centers on early-stage allocations across the gaming, financial technology, and developer infrastructure sectors throughout European and Asian markets.
