Renato Valente

Renato Valente is a General Partner at Iporanga Ventures in Latin America, where he leads early-stage investments. Since joining the firm in April 2020 to manage its Fund II, he has targeted seed-stage companies operating in the fintech, embedded finance, and blockchain sectors. Previously, Valente spent five years as the Brazil Country Manager for Telefonica Open Innovation and Wayra, overseeing a portfolio of more than 30 investments in startups such as Gupy and Pier. His earlier career includes founding the adtech startup Ocapi, which he exited in 2015, alongside corporate roles at IBM and LATAM Airlines. He holds a business degree from FAAP with specialized training from UC Berkeley and IESE, and currently serves on the board of Gorila. Valente leverages his dual background as an entrepreneur and corporate executive to back emerging financial technology ventures.
