Ric Fenton

Ric Fenton is a General Partner and Chief of Investment Operations at Technology Crossover Ventures in Menlo Park, California. Since joining the firm in 2008, he has overseen transaction execution, fund formation, and compliance for a growth-stage venture fund managing over $20 billion in assets. Fenton advises deal teams on investments from sourcing to exit, supporting a portfolio that has included more than 150 public offerings and acquisitions involving companies like Airbnb and Netflix. Prior to TCV, he worked as an attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, advising corporate clients on mergers, acquisitions, and securities. He holds a Juris Doctor from Duke University and a finance degree from the University of Michigan. His current focus centers on guiding legal and operational strategies for late-stage technology investments across the software, fintech, and internet sectors.
