Ricardo Sangion

Ricardo Sangion is a Partner at TheVentureCity based in Madrid, Spain, where he leads early-stage technology investments and venture building operations across Europe and Latin America. In March 2024, he directed the €50 million close for the firm's Fund II, supporting a broader portfolio of over thirty companies that have collectively raised more than $100 million. Prior to co-founding TheVentureCity, Sangion served as Managing Partner at Wayra, the corporate venture capital arm of Telefónica, and successfully co-founded and exited the consumer startup Playcity. He holds an MBA from IE Business School and maintains a personal investment portfolio that includes early backing of the mobility unicorn Cabify. Following a recent Series A investment in the artificial intelligence startup Glocalzone in early 2025, his current focus remains on accelerating early-stage software, fintech, and healthtech enterprises globally.
