Rich Aldrich is a Key Biscayne, Florida-based Co-Founder and Partner at Longwood Fund, an early-stage life sciences venture firm. Over a 30-year career in the biotechnology sector, he previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from 1989 to 2001 and held management roles at Biogen. He also founded RA Capital Management, where he remains an investor, and has helped build multiple companies that achieved successful exits, including Sirtris Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline, and Alnara Pharmaceuticals, acquired by Eli Lilly. Aldrich currently serves as a Director for Axial Therapeutics, Sitryx Therapeutics, and Colorescience, and recently participated in a February 2024 pre-seed investment round for Altera.
