Richard Aberman

Richard Aberman is currently a Visiting Group Partner at Open Core Ventures, where he advises and mentors early-stage technology companies. He previously co-founded and served as the Chief Product Officer of WePay, a payments infrastructure platform established in August 2008 that ultimately secured $75 million in venture capital funding. Under his direct product leadership, the startup scaled its operations to 300 employees and achieved profitability before being acquired by JPMorgan Chase in December 2017. Following the acquisition, Aberman remained with JPMorgan Chase to oversee product integration until July 2021, and he subsequently served as a Visiting Group Partner at Y Combinator across four accelerator batches ending in the summer of 2023. Originally born in New York and raised in Florida, his current professional focus centers on advancing financial technology, scaling payments infrastructure, and guiding early-stage enterprise development.
