Richard Anson

Richard Anson is a Venture Partner at Octopus Ventures, a Lecturer at UCL, and leads the academic agenda at Conception X. He initially trained as a geologist, earning a doctorate in engineering geology, before transitioning into venture capital and later working as a corporate strategy consultant at KPMG. As an entrepreneur, Anson co-founded and served as the chief executive officer of Reevoo for six years, successfully scaling the technology company to secure 300 brand partnerships and multiple funding rounds prior to its eventual sale. Throughout his professional career, he has advised and collaborated with more than 40 early-stage ventures, helping them secure institutional financing and navigate their operational growth. His current focus centers on technology and science venture creation, bridging academia and early-stage investment to support startups that are addressing complex global challenges.
