Richard Galanti is a Board Member and the retired Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Costco Wholesale Corporation, based in Seattle, Washington. He began his early professional career as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette after earning a bachelor's degree from The Wharton School and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Galanti joined Costco in 1984 during its initial private startup phase and subsequently served as its primary financial leader for nearly four decades. As one of the longest-serving CFOs in the United States, he oversaw the company's financial strategy while it expanded into a global multinational retailer generating over $250 billion in annual sales. Following his executive retirement in January 2025, his current professional focus remains on corporate governance, retail operations, and advising on large-scale retail finance.
