Richard Heyman

Richard Heyman is a life sciences entrepreneur currently serving as the Founder and Executive Chairman of the Board at Metacrine, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical enterprise. Prior to his current executive position, he was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Seragon Pharmaceuticals, where he directed the strategic development of targeted therapeutics before transitioning to new ventures. In addition to his operational leadership in the pharmaceutical sector, Heyman is actively involved in life sciences venture capital and has been closely associated with ARCH Venture Partners to fund emerging medical technologies. He established his technical foundation in the medical sciences by earning a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Minnesota. Today, his professional focus remains centered on advancing pharmaceutical innovation and guiding early-stage biotechnology ventures from initial research and development through advanced clinical execution and commercialization.
