Richard Popp is a Venture Partner at Advanced Technology Ventures and Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Stanford University, based in Palo Alto, California. A clinical cardiologist specializing in ultrasound development, he has authored over 300 scientific publications and previously served as Stanford's Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 1995 to 2000. Popp acted as the Principal Medical Consultant for Hewlett-Packard Laboratories and Agilent Labs, while also founding and chairing Hospi Corporation. As an investor and advisor, he held board positions at Sensant, which was acquired by Siemens, and Ardian, which was sold to Medtronic. He currently chairs the medical advisory board for eXo Imaging and advises startups emerging from the Stanford Biodesign Innovation Program.
