Rick Klau

Rick Klau is a technology executive and investor who most recently served as the Chief Technology Innovation Officer for the State of California. Appointed in February 2021, he led the Office of Enterprise Technology for approximately 1.5 years, focusing heavily on critical COVID-19 vaccine-related technology initiatives. Prior to his public service, Klau worked as a partner and senior operating partner at the investment firm Google Ventures. He previously held product management and strategic partner development roles at Google, directing initiatives for major platforms including Blogger, Google+, and YouTube. Earlier in his career, he was the vice president of publisher services at Feedburner before its acquisition by Google, and served as a vice president at Socialtext.
