Ricky Fiel

Ricky Fiel is a Partner at Maple VC based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he focuses on sourcing, investing in, and supporting seed and Series A startups. Prior to joining his current firm in 2023, he served as an early-stage investor at Golden Ventures and held operational product and growth roles at the financial technology company Wave. Throughout his venture capital career, Fiel has backed more than 20 early-stage technology companies across multiple funds, contributing to notable portfolio exits in the consumer and financial technology sectors. He recently led a 2024 Series B investment in Attio, maintains an active presence in the startup ecosystem, and earned a computer science degree from the University of Waterloo. His current investment focus centers on identifying and funding early-stage founders who are building software-as-a-service, financial technology, developer tools, and enterprise software.
