Rishi Gupta

Rishi Gupta is a Partner at OrbiMed, a global healthcare investment firm, and is currently based in San Francisco, California. In his current capacity, he focuses on deal sourcing, comprehensive scientific and financial due diligence, investment negotiation, and post-investment board management. His investment portfolio spans across a wide range of public and private pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostic, and healthcare IT companies. Before joining OrbiMed, Gupta worked at the corporate law firm Wachtell Lipton and gained prior experience in investment banking advising biotech clients, as well as in business development for an early-stage healthcare startup. He earned his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 2004, building upon his foundational undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. Gupta currently leverages this multidisciplinary background in science, corporate law, and finance to identify, structure, and scale emerging healthcare enterprises.
