Rita Sousa is a Partner at Faber based in Lisbon, Portugal, where she co-leads investments in early-stage deep tech startups focused on ocean sustainability and climate action. She manages the Faber Blue Pioneers Fund, which targets €30 million to back 20 to 25 companies working on decarbonization and marine innovation. Before entering venture capital, Sousa spent time in the energy and utilities sectors, holding engineering and consulting roles at Veolia, Altran, and ABB. She holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Lisbon, a Master of Science in Energy Systems from the University of Strathclyde, and an MBA. Additionally, she serves as a jury member for the European Innovation Council Accelerator program. With over eight years of venture capital experience, Sousa bridges her technical energy background with early-stage funding to advance global climate technology.
