Robert Balfour

Robert Balfour is the Investment Director at ALSA Ventures, an early-stage life sciences investment firm based in London, United Kingdom. He holds a doctorate in neurophysiology and a bachelor's degree in physiology, providing a rigorous scientific foundation for his focus on therapeutic investments. Prior to his venture capital career, he developed extensive operational expertise across pharmaceutical research and development, biotechnology, and contract research organization drug development. On March 8, 2021, Balfour served as the acting Chief Executive Officer during the launch of Promatix Inc., an oncology therapeutics spinout developed alongside Operations Director Katie Sunnucks.
