Robert Simon

Robert Simon is a Venture Partner at Ridge Ventures and serves as a Director for Vendasta Technologies and the Venture Capital Association of Alberta. Prior to his current roles, he spent over a decade as Senior Managing Partner at the BDC Venture Capital IT Venture Fund from 2011 to 2024, and previously operated as a General Partner at Alta Partners between 2000 and 2008. His investment career includes partner-level positions at Sierra Ventures and Saints Capital, following his graduation with a BS and MS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University in 1983. As an entrepreneur with over 25 years of information technology experience, he co-founded multiple software companies that achieved successful exits, including PS Publishing's acquisition by Lotus Development and DotBank's sale to Yahoo. Simon currently focuses on venture investments across enterprise software, internet infrastructure, and clean technologies.
