Robin Gao

Robin Gao is currently a Principal at Sixty Degree Capital, a global investment firm where he evaluates opportunities across the biotechnology, healthcare technology, and medical device sectors. Since joining the firm in November 2019, he has focused on identifying and executing strategic investments in emerging healthcare and life sciences companies. Prior to his transition into venture capital, Gao managed business development and fundraising initiatives for the Toronto-based startups AmacaThera and Focal Healthcare. He previously worked in the pre-clinical research division at ApoPharma and conducted academic research on HIV vaccines and MRI contrast agents. Gao holds a Master of Management of Innovation designation from the University of Toronto, bridging his scientific expertise with commercial strategy. His professional background combines foundational laboratory research with corporate development to support the funding and commercialization of novel medical technologies.
