Roger Teran

Roger Teran is the Co-Founder of R2, an embedded lending infrastructure startup currently based in Mexico City, Mexico. Founded in 2020 and backed by Y Combinator as part of its Winter 2021 batch, the company enables B2B platforms such as Rappi and PayU to offer financing directly to their small and medium-sized business users across Latin America. Under his leadership, the 75-employee fintech firm has successfully financed more than 100,000 regional SMBs before ultimately being acquired. Prior to establishing R2, Teran worked as a data scientist at high-growth technology companies including Uber, and he initially began his career helping Central American enterprises secure necessary early growth capital. Originally from El Salvador, his current focus remains on expanding financial access through embedded lending technologies while actively angel investing in emerging Latin American technology founders.
