Ruben Fiszel is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Windmill, an open-source platform for building internal applications and automated workflows. Prior to founding Windmill, he managed a core engineering team at the multi-party computation startup Zama and engineered large-scale distributed systems during his tenure at Palantir. Fiszel earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from EPFL, where he graduated at the top of his class, and previously conducted compiler research at Stanford University. Under his leadership, Windmill launched enterprise self-hosting with Kubernetes support in 2023, secured seed funding in 2024, and accumulated over 20,000 stars on GitHub. Earlier in his career, he also developed the first open-source Java library dedicated to reinforcement learning. His current focus centers on advancing open-source infrastructure, developer tools, and scalable distributed systems for modern enterprise engineering teams.
