Rudrabha Mukhopadhyay

Rudrabha Mukhopadhyay is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Sync Labs, an artificial intelligence startup focused on developing models to understand, modify, and synthesize human subjects in video. Prior to establishing his current company, he served as the primary author of Wav2Lip, a widely adopted lip-syncing model published in 2020 that significantly advanced the field of audio-visual manipulation. He completed his academic training at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad), where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree specializing in audio-visual deep learning. Alongside his formal academic and corporate endeavors, he has actively contributed to various community-driven artificial intelligence projects aimed at improving generative media technologies. Mukhopadhyay currently focuses his professional efforts on scaling commercial applications for video synthesis while advancing foundational research in deep learning and audio-visual artificial intelligence.
