Russ Chaney

Russ Chaney is the former Chief Executive Officer of the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), having retired in 2021 after a 25-year tenure. He began his professional career as an apprentice plumber in 1974 before earning a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University Bloomington and pursuing MBA studies at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. During his executive career, Chaney served as the Chairman of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and held multiple terms on the World Plumbing Council Executive Board, including a term as chairman from 2011 to 2013. In December 2021, he received a WorldSkills Fellowship in recognition of his extensive contributions to global vocational education and training. His professional background centers on advancing international plumbing and mechanical systems standards, global vocational training, and professional standards development.
