Ryan Chow

Ryan Chow is the Co-founder and CEO of Metalware, a cybersecurity startup based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2023, the four-employee company develops firmware security tools for critical infrastructure and has raised $8 million in funding from investors including Y Combinator, Crosspoint, and Haystack. Prior to launching Metalware, Chow spent five years at SpaceX from 2017 to 2022, where he served as a Lead Software Engineer and Product Manager within the Starlink Network Engineering division. He previously held an engineering role at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, followed by a Master of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His current focus centers on building embedded systems and hardware security solutions for the aerospace, defense, automotive, and telecommunications sectors.
