Ryan McLinko

Ryan McLinko is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Astranis, a commercial space technology company developing small geostationary satellites. He established the enterprise in 2015 alongside Chief Executive Officer John Gedmark to engineer proprietary MicroGEO satellites that deliver high-speed broadband internet connectivity to remote and historically underserved global regions. Under his direct technical leadership, the company launched its first communications satellite, Arcturus, aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket to serve its initial enterprise customer Pacific Dataport in Alaska. Following a fully successful end-to-end payload test in late 2023, the firm secured more than $1 billion in commercial orders for the subsequent twenty-four months and scheduled four additional satellite deployments for the following year. McLinko currently focuses on advancing satellite payload systems and scaling geostationary deployment capabilities to expand global telecommunications infrastructure and improve defense resiliency.
