Ryan Petersen

Ryan Petersen is an American businessman who serves as the Founder and CEO of Flexport, a global supply chain technology platform, and as a Venture Partner at Founders Fund. Before launching Flexport, he co-founded ImportGenius in 2006, serving as CEO of the global trade transaction data provider. Under his leadership, Flexport participated in the Y Combinator accelerator in 2014 and reached an $8 billion valuation by 2022, helping over 13,000 companies move more than $175 billion in merchandise worldwide. Petersen returned to the CEO position at Flexport in September 2023 following the abrupt resignation of Dave Clark. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Columbia Business School. His professional background remains heavily focused on modernizing international trade, global logistics, and freight forwarding through advanced supply chain technology.
