Ryan Schuler

Ryan Schuler is the Senior Managing Director and Firm Lead at Ascension Ventures in St Louis, Missouri, managing over $1 billion in capital for the major hospital system. Since joining shortly after its 2002 inception, he has directed $10 million to $20 million investments into early-stage and late-stage healthcare startups, overseeing a portfolio of more than 80 companies. Recognized on the 2024 Global Corporate Venturing Powerlist, Schuler has backed recognizable names like NaviHealth, while participating in major rounds such as a $166 million Series C for Strive Health and a $50 million Series C for Censys. Prior to venture capital, he worked in mergers and acquisitions at AG Edwards and provided transaction support at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Schuler leverages his financial background and MBA from Washington University to target medical devices, diagnostics, and healthcare IT technologies that improve clinical outcomes.
