Ryan Wyatt

Ryan Wyatt is a General Partner at Play Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, based in San Francisco, California. Prior to his current investment role, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Discord from 2020 to 2022, where he managed the communication platform's growth to over 150 million monthly active users. Wyatt previously spent six years as the Head of YouTube Gaming at Google, following earlier corporate development and business roles at Electronic Arts and Next Games. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, he built a portfolio of over 50 investments and recently launched Play Ventures' $120 million Fund II in 2023. His current focus centers on scaling consumer internet platforms and directing early-stage venture capital into the interactive entertainment, esports, and web3 sectors.
