Sam Bursten

Sam Bursten is a Principal on the Frontier Fund at Energy Impact Partners in New York, where he focuses on venture capital investments in climate technology and deep decarbonization. At the firm, which manages nearly $3 billion in assets, he sources and evaluates pre-commercial hardware and revolutionary energy technologies. His venture investment portfolio includes companies such as Li-Cycle, Rondo Energy, and Zap Energy. Prior to joining the firm in 2016, Bursten worked in the Energy Group at CIT, executing project finance transactions across the power, renewables, and infrastructure sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in public policy from Duke University and serves on the Investor Advisory Board at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
