Sam Pullara is a Managing Director at Sutter Hill Ventures, where he focuses on venture investing in early-stage technology companies. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as a senior infrastructure engineer and strategic technology advisor at Twitter following the 2011 acquisition of Bagcheck, a startup he co-founded and led as Chief Executive Officer. His prior executive experience includes working as Chief Technologist at Yahoo! and serving as Chief Architect at Borland after the acquisition of his previous company, Gauntlet Systems. Earlier in his career, he was the first server engineer at WebLogic, and he holds a Master of Science in Physics from Northwestern University alongside a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Pullara leverages his extensive background in software infrastructure and platform engineering to identify and support emerging technology ventures.
