Samantha Truex

Samantha Truex is the Chief Executive Officer of Upstream Bio, an early-stage biotechnology company focused on therapeutic development and immunology. Under her leadership, Upstream Bio secured $200 million in funding to advance its clinical-stage drug candidates based on approved medicine biology. Previously, she served as a Venture Partner at Atlas Venture, where she collaborated closely with partner Bruce Booth to start, build, and scale new biotech enterprises. Her extensive executive experience includes serving as Chief Executive Officer of Quench Bio, Chief Operating Officer at Synlogic, and Chief Business Officer at Padlock Therapeutics. During her tenure at Padlock Therapeutics, she helped facilitate the company's successful acquisition by Bristol Myers Squibb for up to $600 million in 2016. Truex currently focuses on translating early scientific innovation into scalable, clinical-stage therapeutic businesses within the broader venture capital ecosystem.
