Samantha Wong

Samantha Wong is a General Partner at Blackbird Ventures based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Before joining the venture capital firm as a Partner in 2018, she began her financial career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and subsequently worked in the broader private equity sector. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce undergraduate degree from the University of Sydney. At Blackbird Ventures, an investment entity managing over A$1 billion in total funds, Wong directs seed and Series A capital into emerging early-stage technology enterprises. Her portfolio involvement includes scaling prominent technology companies such as Canva and Airwallex, alongside leading a 2024 investment round for a Southeast Asian financial technology unicorn. Wong currently concentrates on identifying and scaling early-stage software, healthtech, and climate tech startups across the Australian and Southeast Asian regional markets.
