Sanjay Jain

Sanjay Jain is the Director of Digital Public Infrastructure at the Gates Foundation, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. He previously served as a Product Manager at Google from 2006 to 2010, where he launched Google Map Maker across more than 170 countries, before working as Chief Product Manager at the Government of India UIDAI from 2010 to 2012. Between 2017 and 2024, Jain held dual roles as a Partner at the Bharat Innovation Fund and Chief Innovation Officer at CIIE CO, focusing on early-stage technology investments. He earned a BTech from IIT Bombay and an MS in Computer Science from UCLA, and he currently serves as the Chairman of the Technology Committee at MOSIP. His extensive professional background centers on developing large-scale digital public infrastructure, interoperable identity systems, and financial inclusion initiatives to support emerging markets.
