Sapna Shah

Sapna Shah is a Partner at Novastar Ventures East Africa Advisors Limited, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She began her career in international corporate banking, managing financial relationships with entrepreneurs and small-to-medium enterprises across the United Kingdom, United States, Europe, and the Middle East for institutions including Lloyds TSB and HSBC. In 2012, Shah relocated to Kenya to work as an impact investor at Acumen, and she subsequently co-founded and operated an independent food startup in the local market. She joined Novastar Ventures in 2015 to expand her focus on regional venture capital, building on an academic foundation that includes a Bachelor of Science in Government and Economics from the London School of Economics. Her current investment strategy centers on supporting early-stage African ventures that generate measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial returns.
