Scott Friend

Scott Friend is a Managing Partner at Bain Capital Ventures based in West Newton, Massachusetts. Prior to transitioning into his current venture capital career, he operated as a seed-to-exit entrepreneur and established a Bain Capital-backed retail analytics software company that was ultimately acquired by Oracle. In his current investment capacity, he focuses primarily on leading seed through growth-stage funding rounds for companies operating within the application software, commerce technology, and marketing technology sectors. Friend leverages his direct operational experience to advise emerging founders and has directed early-stage capital into prominent consumer and enterprise platforms, notably including an early investment in Rent the Runway prior to its initial public offering.
