Scott Heiferman is a New York-based entrepreneur and angel investor who previously served as the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Meetup. Under his leadership, the local event platform grew to over 30 million members hosting more than 50,000 weekly gatherings across 100 countries before its acquisition by WeWork in late 2017. Prior to launching Meetup, he co-founded the early online advertising agency i-traffic and the pioneering photo-sharing network Fotolog, which also scaled to over 30 million registered users. As an active early-stage investor, he has backed prominent technology funds and startups including Betaworks and Founders Collective, while additionally serving on the board of the Open Learning Exchange. The University of Iowa graduate currently focuses his professional efforts on angel investing and advising social technology ventures that facilitate real-world community building.
