Sean Simons

Sean Simons is currently a Principal at Newark Venture Partners, where he is directly responsible for sourcing and evaluating new early-stage investment opportunities. He initially joined the firm as a Venture Fellow in 2018 and steadily progressed through multiple investment roles, including Analyst, Associate, and Senior Associate, before assuming his current position in April 2024. In his capacity as an institutional investor, Simons actively supports existing portfolio companies such as Mesh while identifying new prospects across various traditional sectors. Prior to his venture capital career, he held early sales positions at several emerging technology startups and gained hands-on operational experience working in a scrap yard and performing commercial airplane maintenance. Today, his primary investment focus centers on offline industries that enhance the physical world, specifically targeting the industrials, supply chain, maritime, and defense sectors.
