Sebastian Siemiatkowski

Sebastian Siemiatkowski is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Klarna, a global financial technology company based in Stockholm, Sweden. Before launching the business at age 23, he worked in sales at a factoring company, attended the Stockholm School of Economics, and met co-founder Niklas Adalberth while working at Burger King. Under his leadership, the digital bank has grown to process 3.4 million daily transactions for over 114 million active users worldwide. Backed by early investors like Sequoia Capital, Siemiatkowski guided the firm from a peak private valuation of $50 billion to a $19 billion public listing on the New York Stock Exchange in September 2025, marking the largest initial public offering of the year. His current focus centers on expanding buy now, pay later payment models and integrating advanced artificial intelligence applications across the broader consumer finance platform.
