Shashij Gupta

Shashij Gupta is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Cekura, an artificial intelligence observability startup based in Sunnyvale, California. Founded in 2024 and backed by Y Combinator, the five-person company recently secured $2.4 million in seed funding in July 2025 to develop testing platforms for voice and chat AI agents. Prior to establishing Cekura, Gupta worked as a natural language processing researcher at Google Research and conducted academic research at ETH Zurich, where he published a first-author paper on testing transformers that has received over 50 citations. He also served as a quantitative researcher at a trading firm developing complex alphas after earning a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from IIT Bombay in 2020. His current focus centers on advancing technical strategy and product development for AI-driven testing solutions across enterprise applications.
