Sheila Lirio Marcelo

Sheila Lirio Marcelo is a Venture Partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA) based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Prior to joining the venture capital firm as a partner in 2021, she was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Care.com, an online caregiving marketplace that she scaled to serve over 30 million registered members globally. Under her executive leadership, the consumer internet platform completed its initial public offering in 2014 and was subsequently acquired by IAC for $500 million in 2020. Earlier in her professional career, she earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and held various consulting and management roles at both Harvard and Bain & Company. Marcelo now leverages her extensive operational background to focus on early-stage venture capital investments across consumer technology, enterprise software, and family-oriented startups.
