Sherry Chao

Sherry Chao is currently an Investing Partner at GV, formerly known as Google Ventures, where she directs capital toward early-stage and growth-stage opportunities within the life sciences sector. Before transitioning into venture capital, she built her financial expertise as a private equity investor at Goldman Sachs, evaluating complex transactions and corporate investments across various markets. Preceding her career in institutional finance, Chao conducted extensive scientific investigations as a cancer immunology researcher at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Her academic credentials include three distinct degrees from Harvard University, comprising a Ph.D. in computational biology, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a BA in economics from Harvard College. Today, Chao leverages her dual background in advanced computational research and global private equity to identify and support innovative biotechnology and healthcare startups across the broader medical industry.
