Shmuel Chafets

Shmuel Chafets is an Israel-based General Partner at Target Global VC, a pan-European venture capital firm managing €700 million in assets. Prior to this position, he served as a partner at Giza Venture Capital between 2009 and 2014, where he helped manage a portfolio that has generated over 40 successful exits. In 2012, he co-founded Giza Polish Ventures as Managing Director before joining Hasso Plattner Ventures, a Berlin-based fund with over €150 million under management backed by the founder of SAP. His investment portfolio includes European scale-ups such as Delivery Hero and Auto1, alongside recent transactions like a $40 million seed round for The Vets and a $5 million seed investment in Forsea Foods. Chafets currently focuses his practice on early-stage technology investments across the SaaS, marketplace, internet of things, and cybersecurity sectors throughout Europe and Israel.
