Shubhang Shankar

Shubhang Shankar is the Managing Director at Syngenta Group Ventures, an agribusiness venture capital arm based in Basel, Switzerland. Before assuming his current leadership position in late 2023, he served as the Global Head of Digital Farming and Open Innovation at Syngenta and earned an MBA from INSEAD. He currently manages a global portfolio of more than 20 companies, directing early-stage capital into prominent agriculture and biotechnology startups such as AgroStar, Benson Hill, and Kaleido. In the third quarter of 2024, Shankar led a strategic investment in an AI-driven crop protection startup, and he recently presented on sustainable farming technologies at the March 2025 World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit. Drawing on over a decade of corporate venturing and engineering experience, his current focus remains centered on advancing deep tech, climate tech, and precision agriculture initiatives globally.
