Sivesh Sukumar

Sivesh Sukumar is a Principal at Balderton, where he focuses on early-stage technology investments. Joining the venture capital firm's investment team in 2022, he specializes in identifying and evaluating opportunities across the software engineering, machine learning, and financial technology sectors. Before his current role, Sukumar began his professional career at JP Morgan, executing strategic investments, corporate acquisitions, and industry partnerships within the global fintech space. During his tenure at the bank, he also handled European structured finance transactions for the Securitised Product Group. He previously completed internships in trading at Morgan Stanley and business development at Finimize, complementing his Master of Engineering in Software Engineering and Machine Learning from the University of Oxford. His combined technical education and institutional finance experience currently drive his primary focus on sourcing and evaluating emerging early-stage software and fintech startups.
