Sophia Amoruso

Sophia Amoruso is the General Partner at Trust Fund, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Los Angeles, California. She previously founded the fashion retailer Nasty Gal in 2006, serving as its Chief Executive Officer until 2015 and scaling the e-commerce business to over $100 million in annual revenue with a base of more than one million active customers. Amoruso also authored the 2014 business memoir #Girlboss, which sold over one million copies globally and was subsequently adapted into a scripted television series by Netflix in 2017. Transitioning to venture capital, she joined Trust Fund in 2021, where she has built a portfolio of more than 20 investments and recently spoke on consumer investing at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2024. Her current professional focus centers on early-stage consumer technology, e-commerce platforms, female-led startups, and direct-to-consumer brands.
