Stefan Gabriel

Dr. Stefan Gabriel currently serves as the CEO and Managing Director of Hitachi Ventures GmbH. Since establishing the corporate venture capital firm in 2019, he has actively advised a 600 million fund dedicated to executing global strategic investments for the parent corporation. Prior to assuming his current position, he operated as the President of 3M New Ventures beginning in 2008, holding global responsibility for identifying and developing emerging technologies through targeted venture funding. Earlier in his career, Gabriel spent several years in executive roles at BMW Group, where he directed manufacturing engineering, corporate strategy, and powertrain innovation initiatives across the BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce automotive brands. Drawing on over two decades of corporate venturing experience, his current investment focus targets environmental technology, artificial intelligence, industrial automation, and life sciences to address complex global challenges.
