Stefan Schnell

Stefan Schnell is the Senior Vice President of Group Reporting and Performance Management at BASF SE and a Senior Vice President at BASF Venture Capital. In his venture capital capacity, he specializes in executing early-stage and pre-seed investments within the industrial manufacturing sector. In April 2024, corporate shareholders BASF and LetterOne proposed Schnell to become the Chief Executive Officer of Wintershall Dea. This executive leadership transition is scheduled to take effect following the completion of a December 2023 transaction agreement to sell Wintershall Dea’s exploration and production business to Harbour Energy in the fourth quarter of 2024. Additionally, he serves as a steam leader representative for BASF at the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group.
