Stelleo Tolda is a Strategic Advisor at Mercado Livre, currently based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He co-founded the prominent Latin American e-commerce platform in 1999 alongside Marcos Galperin, eventually scaling its digital operations across 18 different countries. Serving as Chief Operating Officer and later as Chief Executive Officer from August 2020 to March 2022, Tolda helped direct the company's 2007 Nasdaq initial public offering and oversaw a 2 billion reais domestic investment expansion in 2018. Before launching Mercado Livre, he earned an engineering degree from Stanford University and worked in corporate finance at Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers. He also serves on the corporate advisory boards of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Arco Educação. Tolda focuses his ongoing professional advisory work on e-commerce, fintech, logistics, and technology innovation throughout Latin America.
